We welcome the Sisters of Good News to their new home in North Billerica (the former rectory at St. Andrew church). The joy among our parishioners is evident—so many of you have asked how you can help!
As the Sisters continue settling into the convent, they are thoughtfully discerning what household items and furnishings they may need. THANK YOU to those who have made a contribution to one of the categories (kitchen items, linens, toiletries, household items, cleaning supplies, and technology)!
There are a few immediate needs where we’re asking for volunteers:
Transportation Help: The Sisters do not yet drive and are preparing to take their learner’s permit test. We are looking for parishioners who would be willing to drive them to and from The O’Connell House in Lowell, where they serve during the week. If you are available to help with rides: Please call the parish office. Provide your name, contact number, and any details about your availability. We will pass your information along to the Sisters so they can reach out directly.
Volunteer at the O'Connell House: The O’Connell House in Lowell is also in need of volunteers for various support roles. If you’re interested in helping there as well, let us know!
Learn more about the Sisters of Good News - The Sisters came to MA from India last winter to serve at the O'Connell House in Lowell. It is their first time in the United States. The Sisters are caregivers to the residents and provide 24/7 care (a loving, nurturing, presence in the house).
