96 parishioners were in attendance.

The question posed to the parish – What does St. Matthew the Evangelist need to do to be sustained~ Pastorally, Financially, and Our Buildings?

Presentations were made by chairs of our Pastoral Council, Financial Council and Building Committee. An overview of topics presented that night included~

• The PPC being committed to the parishioners of St. Matthew, developing the “Parishioner Pulse” in late 2021, so that parishioners can express thoughts. As a result, the PPC corner in the weekly bulletin was developed.

• The PFC chair shared that the pandemic really hurt the financial state of St. Matthew the Evangelist.

  • During the pandemic, attendance decreased approximately 50% and offertory contributions decreased approximately 30%.

  • For the past several years, the parish has continued to have a year-end deficit.

• The Building Committee (through the Property Management dept. at the Archdiocese) conducted assessments of all buildings. The committee was astonished at the state of all buildings and published a video to the parish in June of 2021.

We have received many comments and feedback – at the parish meeting, through the comment cards made available, and by email.
