96 parishioners were in attendance.
The question posed to the parish – What does St. Matthew the Evangelist need to do to be sustained~ Pastorally, Financially, and Our Buildings?
Presentations were made by chairs of our Pastoral Council, Financial Council and Building Committee. An overview of topics presented that night included~
The PPC being committed to the parishioners of St. Matthew, developing the “Parishioner Pulse” in late 2021, so that parishioners can express thoughts. As a result, the PPC corner in the weekly bulletin was developed.
The PFC chair shared that the pandemic really hurt the financial state of St. Matthew the Evangelist.
During the pandemic, attendance decreased approximately 50% and offertory contributions decreased approximately 30%.
For the past several years, the parish has continued to have a year-end deficit.
The Building Committee (through the Property Management dept. at the Archdiocese) conducted assessments of all buildings. The committee was astonished at the state of all buildings and published a video to the parish in June of 2021.
We have received many comments and feedback – at the parish meeting, through the comment cards made available, and by email.
Thank you! All of this information will be passed along to our incoming pastor, Fr. Casey.
