Father Aveni's appointment as pastor of Saint Matthew Parish in Billerica will be ending at the regular time of transfers in June of 2023.

At that time, he will accept a new assignment. Where that parish is located or who will be succeeding Fr. Aveni as pastor here is Billerica is not known yet.

We will announce that information when it becomes available. 
 

As you may be aware, the environment of the residence at St. Theresa and the parish office (located in the same building) has been affecting Father Aveni's health in an adverse way.

After a number of conversations with the Archdiocese, it has been determined that his health needs to be a priority.
