At the beginning of July, we broke ground on our crucifix project for the front of Saint Theresa Church. We are replacing the large emblem that has been on the front of the church for 25 years. It is the logo from the jubilee year 25 years ago! With the beginning of a new Jubilee Year in the Church, this is the perfect moment to lift high the Cross of Christ as a visible sign of our faith, hope, and love.
We will have a beautiful 10-foot crucifix installed. It will be heavy (about 400-500 pounds), so Graziano Empire Masonry collaborated on the project and built a footing for the crucifix.
We would like to invite individuals or families to consider making a donation toward the cost of the crucifix (approximately $10,000) in memory of loved one, in your own name, or simply as an offering of devotion. We are planning a plaque to be replaced in the narthex for all donors and their intentions. You can donate here: https://billericacatholic.org/givenow
The cross is being made out of white oak that was milled special for this purpose from a single tree way up at a mill in Northern New Hampshire. The beautiful cross is being custom-crafted and stained to match the church doors. Barry Clifford of Clifford Construction and his foreman Dan Sullivan have been working diligently on the cross. We are grateful to Barry and Dan Sullivan of Clifford Construction for bringing their expertise and care to this sacred project.
We are thrilled that this project is underway! Be sure to check all the pictures that will be posted in the photo gallery. In the meantime, you can follow the progress of the project on our Facebook page HERE .
The Pilot newspaper reached out to Fr. Chris as well as Barry Clifford and interviewed both about this exciting project. You can view the article that appeared in The Pilot newspaper on July 27,2025 HERE .
